Call for CCAS Directors Nominations Preview of the CCAS An Interesting Case PRO vs. CON Literature Reviews |
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the newest edition of the CCAS newsletter. Since taking over the reigns as the new editor of the CCAS newsletter a few months ago, I have really come to understand in much greater detail the work and effort that Dean Andropoulos has put into this organization. Clearly, this newsletter and the CCAS as an organization would not exist if not for the hard work and dedication of Dean Andropoulos. His unwaivering commitment to establish an organization to advance the specialty of congenital cardiac anesthesia has come to fruition and the meetings and membership are stronger than ever. I invite you, our members, to become actively involved in this exciting organization that truly has a commitment to improving the care of children with congenital heart disease. I see the purpose of the CCAS newsletter as twofold: education and communication. As you will see with this newsletter I think the contributors of this edition have taken great time and effort to fulfill these two objectives. Please pay special attention to the update by Emad Mossad on the upcoming CCAS meeting as he has organized a couple of firsts for the CCAS meeting which will surely be a great success. I would like to encourage the membership to communicate with me or the co-editors as to future topics for the CCAS newsletter and how we can best serve your communication and educational needs. I hope you enjoy this edition and look forward to seeing you in San Antonio. Courtney Hardy, MD
